Perth World championships in Sailing

Hello! Long time no sea!

So what have I been up to? Well a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science is done :) and now its only 2 more years before I'm a qualified Chiropractor :) SWEET!!! My grades were excellent, even tho it felt like going through hell during the last weeks of the semester!

What else has happened? Murdoch University School of Chiropractic, has organized through FICS (Federation of international Sports Chiropractors), So we could give athletes treatment for various injuries or just check-ups. Ive been giving treatment to all the athletes (80 different nations) here in Perth during the tournament, its been very rewarding, the contacts Ive manage to preserve is totally awesome! I'm very happy with the outcome! I love treating athletes, its like tuning a race car, every thing you do in treatment is experienced straight away by the athlete!!! LOVE IT!!!! I had so many cool cases, and 2 of these will forever stick in my mind! Firstly a girl from Greece, a windsurfer. She came in to me with severe back pain, had huge trouble to even lay down, she had to call of her race and could not compete in the tournament, we at the medical center was her only hope to get back again, but she was very afraid that it was all over, all her preparations and hard work was gone.... When I saw her, and tested her out, I realized she had a hot disc problem, after the assessment and all the clinical tests, I started to give her treatment! Which was, adjustments, taping and Trigenics. The day after she was back on her board with no pain!!! I treated her 5 times more, and now I can gladly say that she qualified for the olympic games 2012 :). The Next patient is a guy from Denmark. He was a media guy, and he came in with almost the same problem as the girl, another hot disc! Gave him all my best and more or less fixed his issues! He have had disc problems before and he knows that if they are not taken care of, he is in bed for a couple of weeks! His fear was that if that happened he would not be able to work and lose a fair deal of money!!! What happened was that a couple of days later he actually manage to take the pictures of the famous sailer that got him disqualified from the tournament... Now its sad for the sport, but for the media guy its worth a huge deal of reputation and money! Now is my treatment part of this? Maybe it is, if he didn't have treatment he would probably not have been on the boat to shoot those pictures, or maybe he would have been!?? I thing is foreshore, I LOVE HELPING PEOPLE!!!

Some other random things is that I've had the privilege to set sail with the President of World federation in sailing, I got the chance to follow him during a day on the sea, his crew made it to such a good day! Free food, drinks and really close contact with sailing ;) Lets end up with some pics
This top picture is on the President of ISAF :) and Dr Deb Nook, just outside the treatment room

Me and the crew that day, to the right of me is the Danish Sports chiropractor Anette, she is def one of the coolest chiros Ive meet! Thank you Anette for all your support!

This foto is on me and Dr Brian Nook, when he is checking out my Greece windsurfer patient! Dr Nook is just phenomenal!!!

See you all soon again!

Kinesio Tape

Hey all dudes!

What has this Chiro student been up to since a while back.... Well I have learned how to tape Kinesio!!! its so good!!!!! LOVE IT!!! All my patients and friends are walking around with tape now... Sorry guys but you need it! Studies are progressing this sem, so much 2 do, its hard to keep up with everything we have to read and do, I'm so lucky that I've found what I really like to do, it makes it so much easier! Chiropractic is the future in health care, i'm absolutely 100% sure of that!

I also have found a really good friend, her name is Emily, awesome humor, smart and has a pure positive heart! Thx Em for being that person!!

'What else is new??? Not much I guess, just a lot of study, thats it!!! I'm going out for awhile 2 night, birthday thingy in Freo

This is how I look right now.... Kinesio is the shit.... hahaha

Gonstead

Hi all my fellow friends :) I just came back from Sydney, had an amazing time there :) The reason to why Mr Martin was there, was because of a seminar in the Chiropractic Technique "Gonstead" Which I have come to like very much!!!! its totally awesome, its so bloody hard to do and its very demanding as a Chiro, the reason to this is because you have to be so incredibly specific in everything you do, everything has to be synced to the ms!!! But if this is the hardest technique in Chiropractic, I want to learn it!!!!! Everybody that know me very well know that I love things that are hard and difficult and almost impossible ;) So now its practice practice and practice.....

I also got the chance to speak with Dr Alex Cox, he is about 80 yo now, he worked with Dr Gonstead himself, I just had to learn who Dr Gonstead was and he told me so much about him, he also told me that the technique Gonstead is hard in the beginning but after many years of training you will be ok and after 30 years of training you will be better..... hmm something tells me that I have a long way to go..... but i'm ok with that, coz this is such a awesome technique!!!!!!!! He also asked me "When I leave this earth, will you Mr Martin Isaksson, carry the Gonstead technique further and train Students like yourself" I told him that both him and Dr Gonstead will be proud!!!

Back to study again, I will leave you with a quote from a very wise man

"Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it" Buddha

Lysande

Wow its been a while since I was here..... I wounder why???? Can it be all my freaking studies.... YES YES YES YES!!!! Well what do you do..... Its awesome thou, I've learned so many cool things this semester, its so much more clinical this semester, than it has been before, they really put you up to the test with actually knowing stuff, like anatomy you can rope learn and do really well, but with these clinical settings you have to understand and be able to come up with a clinical diagnosis. This is how we have to do it: Firstly do a complete history from the patient, and we have done this we should do physical examinations from this history to support our thinking, step 3 is actually come up with the disease or syndrome or reason to why the patient have these symptoms and signs.... easy..... NO NO NO NO!!!! but very very interesting to do, I really like to do these things, its like an challange every time!!!! Love it!!!! I have an other exam in 2 weeks time, with just this stuff, have only had like freaking 8 exams or something this semester so far.... and i'm still here :) Awesome hey!!!! I must say every year I've done so far has been pure holiday.... I did not feel that last year, then I thought it was so much studies.... The only difference is that now its so much more to do, not harder but content wise its so damn much!!!! Sometimes you wounder how the He... did I manage to get that awesome result???? I really mean it, I walked out from the exam thinking SHIT did I make it??? It feels like you actually empty your head out on a pce of paper.... Anyway, I'm glad to actually have been in here and saying HI :)

Cya all soon :) I'm back in SWEDEN the 18 of June :) he he he!!!

So what has happen since Midsummer party in June???? Well me and allie broke up short there after, but we are still very good friends, and that feels very good, we have always had huge respect for each other so even if it was a bit rough in the beginning I'm happy to say that we are still best friends. My 2nd year of Chiro is done wooohooooo......... awesome!!!!!! and my grades was awesome as well!!!! I'm very happy for that!!! It has been a struggle but well worth it! Next semester we will start with adjustments, I'm so looking forward to that!

I have recently taken a functional neurology course, called Trigenics, It was very good, and it really works...... I have had awesome results on people since I started to treat fellow mates and others, I really recommend other Chiro's to take it, its worth all the money! When I get back to Sweden in June I'll be treating people for a low cost, and family for free :)!!! What else have been going on...... I have not been to the gym as much as I would like to have :( Fuc.... uni takes so much time..... but during this break I will train as much as possible and hopefully 3-4 times a week!
